De Blasio’s $100M healthcare plan doesn’t cover Staten Island

Mayor de Blasio made a $100 million promise to give health care to all of New York’s uninsured — but his plan leaves an entire borough out in the cold, critics say.

“This is not accessible health care for the people of Staten Island,” Rep. Max Rose (D-SI/Brooklyn) complained in a letter to Hizzoner Wednesday.

About 600,000 New Yorkers, including illegal immigrants, will get primary-care doctors courtesy of city taxpayers by 2021, de Blasio announced last month.

But the city’s public Health and Hospital Corp. facilities will run the program — and Staten Island doesn’t have one, Rose said.

Seven of the borough’s elected officials joined the missive.
